GTA TeleGuam Adds Pentagon Channel to GUdTV Programming Lineup

tpcTAMUNING, Guam–(BUSINESS WIRE)– GTA TeleGuam has added The Pentagon Channel to its GUdTV programming lineup as public interest grows on the military buildup on Guam. The program addition brings to 275 the number of digital channels now available on GUdTV, short for Guam digital television.

The Pentagon Channel is available at no additional cost to all GUdTV customers on channel 24.

“GTA TeleGuam added The Pentagon Channel in response to growing interest from GUdTV customers who want more timely access to military information and news,” said Andrew Gayle, executive vice president of wireless and television for GTA TeleGuam.

“Consistent with GUdTV strategy to group channels by genre, we placed The Pentagon Channel next to the Joint Military News Network Channel (Ch. 23), the local military news and events channel, for the convenience of customers interested in these programs,” Gayle said.

The Pentagon Channel broadcasts military news and information for the 2.6 million members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Programming includes Department of Defense news briefings, interviews with top Defense officials, stories about the work of the military around the world, and general military news

Since launching GUdTV in September 2008, GTA TeleGuam has quickly expanded its Internet Protocol-based television, or IPTV, reach into most villages on Guam as a competitive offering to traditional cable television. Because IPTV is 100 percent digital, it provides superior video and audio broadcast quality.

GUdTV now offers 215 digital television channels and an additional 60 digital music channels. Compared to standard cable, GUdTV also offers more high definition channels, more premium channels, and more international programming. All GUdTV television and music programs are grouped by genres to make channel surfing easy to navigate.

GUdTV rate plans start at $29.95 a month. Customers are eligible for discounts when they bundle their digital television service with other GTA TeleGuam communication services such as home telephone service, broadband Internet access, and wireless phones.

Customers can sign up for GUdTV at any GTA TeleGuam retail store in Upper Tumon, Micronesia Mall, Agana Shopping Center, Guam Premier Outlets, Navy Exchange and the new retail location at Andersen Air Force Base.
