Recommendations
“It is my pleasure to write this recommendation for Edel Alon. Edel is a skilled IT entity, superb teacher, and brilliant problem solver. I can not think of anyone better qualified in IT than him. I first met Edel when he managed desktop support at Mt. Zion in 2006 and he saved the grace of IT. To be honest, the improvement in customer care and IT support skyrocketed to an exceedingly high level and there is no going back to mediocre support.

His technical skills, particular his ability to triage complex IT problems, are well above average when compared to others in his field. His communication skills are outstanding and even provides useful documents and training material to further show his expertise in technology. He is extremely outstanding when it comes to one-on-one training or with large groups.

Edel brings in a certain level of calmness to any situation. He performs well under difficult circumstances and is loved by our group. Whenever I encounter any computer related issues, Edel never disappoints and resolves the matter in a timely and professional fashion.” – Katherine Li, Project Manager

“I’ve known Edel for 10 years. He has a insatiable hunger for technology and has the innate ability to explain complicated concepts in ways anyone can understand. Aside from his significant technical expertise, Edel is exceptionally level-headed, providing a calming influence when things get tense. I have seen him deftly navigate stressful situations on multiple occasions and have always been impressed with this skill. He is a dedicated professional with a strong work ethic and I would highly recommend him in a variety of technical or project management roles.” – Bryce Burnet, Senior Program Manager

“Edel is a complete joy to work with. He has a lot of common sense and has the ability to problem solve and multitask independently and as part of a team. He is also very rational and has experience providing solutions for hard to solve problems. I highly recommend Edel.” – Marissa Blas, Part Time Instructor

“Hey Edel! You really went above and beyond in helping me. I can’t thank you enough…except for a high five!!!”
- Marlon Lee, Programmer Analyst II

“I have depended on Edel for his expertise in data management and networking, particularly in a mixed Mac/PC environment, and seasoned development strategies for IT driven solutions in an academic setting. Edel is someone I can count on for advice, help, and a smile, even with short notice.” – Jennifer Kellen, Clinical Research Budget and Coverage Analyst

“Edel was a great team player. He always knew the latest technology and was happy to take on a project. Edel was always creative, worked self sufficiently well and liked by his co-workers.” – Janet Bavas, Learning Coordinator

  1. What are your strengths?
The ability to merge management, customer service, and technology.

One of my goals it to be head of an IT team that does it all.
  4. Why are you leaving your job?
The main reason is that I have been trained to be a supervisor/manager and there isn’t room for me in the current organizational structure. Otherwise I enjoy what I do but would like to move onto managing a team of my own.
