There are two things that came up this week: the Girl Scouts started selling their cookies and the Cookie Finder app came out. Every year my family looks forward to eating these tasty bites. In years prior, we always hope for some crazy random happenstance to run into a troop selling cookies at street corners or outside grocery stores. Instead of banking on ambiguity, there’s an app to find out where these troops hang out.
When you search iTunes for the Girl Scout cookie app, you’ll find 2 of them: Girl Scout Cookie Finder (Cookie Finder) and Girl Scout Cookie Locator (FindCookies). The official app by the Girls Scouts of the USA is the Girl Scout Cookie Finder. At first look, the database that feeds both are the same. Oh, Girl Scout Cookie Locator is made by the Kellogg Company.
The data seems to be similar however there are some slight differences. Cookie Finder doesn’t seem to show the times when these troops are selling while FindCookies shows the time. FindCookies seems to list more events in the area where troops will be. Between the two, I love the interface and interaction speed of Cookie Finder however FindCookies seems to have more information.
You be the judge. I downloaded both and will try them out while hunting for some cookies.

By the way, Trefoils are my favorite.
