More Street Art

I was on my daily walk around the Mission and stumbled into a street full of art. It’s October so I guess I’m looking for inspiration for a costume or how to cut up my pumpkin this year. I found the following and thought it was one of the best cartoon anti-drug murals I’ve seen. It’s simple but effective. So effective that I was easily drawn to their website to read more about what the Harm Reduction Coalition does.

Harm Reduction Coalition was founded in 1993 and incorporated in 1994 by a working group of needle exchange providers, advocates and drug users. Today, we are strengthened by an extensive and diverse network of allies who challenge the persistent stigma faced by people who use drugs and advocate for policy and public health reform.

This cartoon is about overdose prevention. The super hero stops death from taking another life by giving a dose of Naloxone which is an opiate blocking drug.

Check them out today: http://harmreduction.org/ This is just another piece I thought was pretty cool.
