Kung Pao Chicken

Here’s a quick recipe for Kung Pao Chicken. Not on the traditional side of things, just a quick recipe to get the job done.

Fried Chicken

  • 1 lb chicken boneless
  • 6 tbsp oil
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 small egg beaten
  • 4 tbsp cornflour

Sauce

  • 1½ dice cut onion
  • 1½ dice cut bell pepper
  • 1½ dice cut carrot
  • 2 green onion leaves chopped ( for garnish)
  • 12 fried red button chilies
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp chili oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 4 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • Salt as per taste
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 2 tsp chicken powder
  • 3 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 4 tbsp cornflour (dissolved in ½ cup of water)
  • 3 tbsp peanuts

Method

  1. Marinate chicken with above ingredients mentioned in for fired chicken. Keep aside for an hour.
  2. Now in a pot add oil, chilli oil and ginger garlic paste. Fry on high heat until light brown in color.
  3. Now add vegetables, fried chicken, fried red button chilies and  peanuts.
  4. Then add chicken stock and let it cook on normal flame.
  5. Now add dark soya sauce, salt (this recipe will take less salt).
  6. Add chicken powder and oyster sauce.
  7. In the end, add dissolved cornflour in it to make it thick.
