The days are getting colder but people seem to be holding on to getting their cars out for weekend meets. It’s November and I thought I was done for the season but a few of my friends wanted to check out Cars and Coffee in Fairfield, California. I found about the meet about 24 hours before the event so I quickly woke up my car from hibernation to get it ready. Luckily for me I just had to deal with an insane amount of break dust. The rest of the polished seemed to have lasted since mid-October.
The cars were ready so we started the drive around 7:30AM to get there by 8:30AM. We took a fairly scenic route through Martinez, Benicia, and then finally Fairfield. As we pulled up, I saw nothing but American Muscle cars…so we quickly drove near the end of the parking lot.
What’s cars and coffee without coffee? I’m so glad Journey Coffee was open and serving coffee to which I quickly ran inside to get my Americano…add shot. Tangent alert: Caffè Americano is a type of coffee drink prepared by diluting an espresso with hot water, giving it a similar strength to, but different flavor from, traditionally brewed coffee. The strength of an Americano varies with the number of shots of espresso and the amount of water added. I had a total of 3 shots in my 12 oz cup.
Back to the cars…pretty much all the cars were some form of American muscle. There were two cars that stood out to me…a Toyota Supra and Corona. These two cars were in great shape. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get pictures of the Corona.
The other cars…mustangs, chargers, mustangs, did I say mustangs, were out there. Great to see them but was so much happier seeing the supra and corona. Overall, I think it was a great showing at Cars and Coffee in Fairfield. If you ever go, make sure to visit Bab’s Delta Diner at 770 Kellogg St, Suisun City, CA 94585 before you leave the area.
Enjoy!
