Here’s a quick, easy, and tasty recipe for short ribs. There are many variations of this recipe. Mine depend on what ingredients are in stock. I was fortunate enough to have an Asian pear this round. If I did not have a pear or some kind of fruit, I would have added honey. In theory, the Asian pear tenderizes the meat.
Ingredients
4 pounds of short ribs
1 onion
1 bulb of garlic
1 Asian pear
2 cups soy sauce
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup cooking wine
1/2 cup sesame oil
1 tablespoon black pepper
Method
- In your food processor or something similar, mash up the onion, pear, and garlic. You can shred them.
- In a bowl, add all the ingredients.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Setup your BBQ grill.
- Grill over hot coals or high heat for 4 minutes on each side.
- Let it rest for a little.
- Decorate with green onions.
