Does the weight of shift knobs matter?
I’m at about 18,000 miles on my MX-5. I swapped out of the OEM knob around 2,000 miles to the Voodoo shift knob. Then about 8,000 miles later I switched to the Raceng Rondure shift knob. Each of them has a purpose. Half of the people who drive my car will prefer one over the other.
Here’s my take…since most of you already know I love scenarios.
Track
If going to the track with many straights and giant curves, I prefer the Raceng. The weight helps shift through the gears.
Auto X
If going to autocross with tight corners and knowing you’ll probably never leave 2nd gear, I’m going Voodoo. It’s light and made for quick shifting.

800 grams of pure shifting bliss. The Rondure is a tall cylindrical shift knob with sleek and modern curves.
