Like many of you, I thought COVID would end a few weeks after it started. Now that we are getting close to a year of shelter in place, I decided to up my Zoom game and get better lighting.
My previous setup was laptop, Logitech external cam, and a ring light. The ring light works great but as daylight has reduced because of winter, I needed better lighting. Now I’m running with softbox lighting. Softbox lighting is pretty much professional-grade lights similar to what you can see in a photo studio.
This setup brings in more light but more importantly helps cover the 3 areas of lighting; top, side, and under. Sorta, Ideally, I’d also have the top and behind but this does the trick. Those systems are priced higher than this setup.
Who knows, in the future, I might move to include the top and back lights but for now, this definitely wins in some of my meetings so I don’t look tired and also makes it look like I’m interested.
For $70, you can’t go wrong.
