I wanted to know which of the cheesesteaks is better: Pat’s or Geno’s.
To try to make sure we were on a level playing field, I ordered a steak, with onions, and provolone cheese. Then I added on cheesy fries just to see what they look like.
Both steaks arrived at the same time. So I quickly unbagged them and plated them up. Maybe it’s me, but I don’t remember either of them being so skinny-looking. At first glance, both steaks looked equal.
I first bit into Geno’s steak and nothing. I didn’t taste much. It really felt like someone took fresh meat from the grocery, cooked it, no seasoning, and put it in some bread.
I dumped out the fries next…the shoestring fries were also flavorless however, I liked the cheese dip.
Moving on to Pat’s. I took a bite and I quickly tasted flavor and the grill. There was so much more flavor in Pat’s that I decided not to finish my Geno’s.
Now for the fries. They were also more flavorful and kept more of a crunch over time.
Pat’s, without a doubt, is the winner of these two shops. Let me know what’s your favorite.
