Galician Octopus

I was in a panic trying to figure out an appetizer. Just then I remembered that I had a can…octopus in Galician sauce.

I quickly opened it and served it with baguette slices. It was delicious!

Galician sauce is a mixture of paprika, onion, oil, and salt. In the case of Conservas de Cambados, their sauce uses sunflower oil and can their octopus without preservatives or additives.

Pulperias, restaurants that specialize in octopus, are in every Spanish village. Wish I was in Spain to have this but for now, canned octopus is great. Overall, the octopus is very tender and the seasoning is great. There’s a hint of smoky flavor that comes from the paprika.
