Plan the Ultimate Family BBQ with this Easy Guide

If you want to make sure that your family BBQ goes to plan or if you want to make sure that you do not end up underwhelming your guests, then this guide will help you to plan everything out properly, so you can avoid stress and worry with ease.

Prep Your Food before People Arrive

If you can, you have to try and cook as much as you can ahead of time. This will make a world of difference to the general enjoyment you have with your family. Simply make sure that you at least have your food prepared ready so it can go onto the grill as soon as your guests arrive. You also need to try and cook, assemble and present your cold dishes in advance. You do not want your guests to arrive while you are still trying to form your burger patties or chopping up your tomatoes.

Have Enough Fuel

The last thing you want is to not have enough fuel to cook the food you want. You do not want to be making a last-minute trip out to your local gas station while your burgers sit there half-cooked because the grill went cold. Even if you are able to finish them off cooking, you may find that the meat ends up tasting both rubbery and lifeless. Ask Your Guests for Help

This tip comes in very handy if you are having a huge backyard party. If possible, you need to ask your friends and your family to bring something. If you can do this, then you can eliminate a lot of the cooking stress, and you can also keep your kitchen cleaner. A lot of people worry that asking people to bring side dishes is somewhat of a burden, but at the end of the day, people love to show off their dishes, and you don’t really want to be stuck in a heaping pile of potato salad while the meat on the grill overcooks.

Put Up Lights

You have to remember that it is going to get dark during your party, so you have to be ready with some decorative outdoor lights. Solar-powered lights are great here as they come with their own automatic timer. This means that when the sun does go down, you will not be scrambling, trying to turn them on. They look fantastic too, which is always a good thing.

Serve Snacks

Lastly, it is always a good idea for you to try and serve as many snacks as you can. If you have people congregating around the grill or even in the kitchen, then this can make things more difficult for you when you try and cook, and this is the last thing you need. As a cook, you need your space, so serve any snacks away from the grill or the cooking area so you can keep the flow of guests away from you.
