I’ve been experimenting with many pre-made seasonings to find a flavor profile that fits me. There have been some great selections and many that just contain too much sugar. Most of the experimenting has been for ribs and I bought pre-made Carne Asada mix to see what that would do.
On ribs, I think it worked but it needs a little something for mainstream competition. I’m still experimenting. Stay tuned!
The seasoning works great on shrimp. Find some shrimp, peel them. Yes, peel them. Add some oil and season away.
For those of you who are looking for a Carne Asada flavor to build for yourself, here’s a great starter:
- Garlic Powder
- Dried oregano
- Paprika
- Black pepper
- Coriander powder
- Tajin Seasoning
- Cumin Powder
- Celery seed
- Onion powder
- Chili powder
I’m still playing with measurements.
