We’re very excited for Taishoken to open it’s 2nd location in the bay area. Taishoken shared on Instagram that it plans to debut a San Francisco outpost at 665 Valencia Street in the Mission sometime in July.
Taishoken is the sister restaurant to Japanese chain Nakano Taishoken and opened its first U.S. store in San Mateo in 2019. Taishoken is best known for its famous tsukemen, a popular dish in Japan that consists of chilled ramen noodles served with hot, savory broth for dipping. Kazuo Yamagishi, who co-owned Nakano Taishoken with Sakaguchi, is widely credited for inventing tsukemen in 1961.
